Harold B. Williams Scholarship: Student must be a child or a grandchild of a military veteran.
Magnolia United Methodist Church Scholarship: Minimum GPA: 2.5. Award: $250
Minerva Enterprises Scholarship: Minimum GPA: 2.5.
Pam Sewell Magnolia Area Historical Society Scholarship: To receive this $250 scholarship, recipient must be pursuing a degree in a History-related field such as Museum Science, Archaeology, Preservation, History Education, etc. Award: $250.
Sandy Valley Alumni Scholarship: (Right-click and save these files to your desktop. When you open them from your desktop file, you will be able to type directly into the forms. Sandy Valley Education Association Scholarship: Students going into education will get preference, but anyone may apply. Minimum GPA: 2.8. Award: $350
Sandyville Community Club Scholarship: Must reside in Sandyville or be the child or grandchild of a dues-paid, active Community Club member. Minimum GPA: 3.0.
Sandy Valley Eagles, Aerie #3228 Scholarship: Award: $500
Sandy Valley OAPSE, Local 450: Must be attending a college, university, or technical school in search of a Technical or Vocational Degree. Minimum GPA: 2.5.
Sandy Valley Science Club: Must have been or are a current member of the Sandy Valley Science Club. Must be majoring in some area of Science
A MajesticVoice Scholarship has been set up to award music scholarships in memory of Eileen Kendig and Rose Lee Morton. To be eligible for the scholarships, you must be a resident of the state of Ohio and pursuing a major or minor degree in music at an Ohio institution of higher learning. Deadline for submitting an application, vocal and/or instrumental music performance with applicable sheet music shall be postmarked by December 31, 2017.
Carroll Electric Cooperative Children of Members Scholarship & Touchstone Energy Achievement Scholarship: Available to children of Carroll Electric members. Children of Members Scholarship: up to $1,000. Touchstone Energy Achievement Scholarship: $2,000. Deadline February 1st.
Cleveland Cavaliers/First Merit Bank Scholarship Program: $2,000 scholarship. Click here for more information and an application. Deadline is February 12th.
Ohio 4-H College Scholarship: Due February 15th
Civil Rights Symposium Scholarship: In celebration of the Ohio Department of Transportation’s 2nd Annual Civil Rights Transportation Symposium, (3) Three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to (3) individual students currently enrolled in a post high school education focusing in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) related fields. The Civil Rights Transportation Symposium Scholarship focuses on broadening the number of individuals in the management and operation ranks of the engineering and transportation industry. Students will be selected by submitting an essay describing how the Civil Rights Act has impacted the transportation industry and the role it will play in the future; application and supplemental documentation. Students must meet Scholarship eligibility requirements to be considered. Deadline for this scholarship is 11:59pm on February 16, 2018. The Scholarship awards will be presented April 11th , 2018. Ohio Oil & Gas Energy Education Program (OOGEEP) Scholarships: The Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Program (OOGEEP) and the Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Foundation (Foundation) are pleased to announce our scholarship program targeted at students pursuing careers in the crude oil and natural gas industry. Each scholarship is worth a minimum of $1,000 per year and can be renewed for up to four years. The minimum scholarship applicant criteria includes: Must be a U.S. citizen, have a career goal in the crude oil and natural gas industry, or related energy field, must be an OHIO resident OR a student attending, or planning to attend, an accredited OHIO college, university, technical or trade school and must have and maintain a grade point average (G.P.A.) of 2.5 or higher. Due March 1st.
Stark County School Counselors Association Scholarship Applicants must have a
cumulative weighted grade point average of 3.0 or higher, and intending to pursue a career in education or psychology (with an interest in school counseling). Must be postmarked by March 1st.
Day Ketterer Business Excellence Scholarship: The scholarship is designed to acknowledge the importance of the role of business in the community and the nation, and to encourage students to continue to expand their business and leadership skills and to contribute to their local business community upon graduation from college. $2,000. Due March 3rd.
OSBA is accepting applications for the 2016 OSBA’s Black Caucus Leo Lucas Scholarship, a program that provides graduating African-American high-school seniors funds for college. The program is named for the late Leo Lucas, a Dayton City school board member and educator who founded the caucus. Applications are available by clicking here. The application deadline is March 3, 2017.
Tuscarawas County Community Foundation Leadership Scholarship: For Tuscarawas County residents. Due March 21st.
Foundation For Appalachian Ohio (FAO) Scholarships: Various scholarship opporunities in science, international studies, etc. Due March 31st.
Don and Madalyn Sickafoose Educational Trust Fund: Philanthropists Don and Madalyn Sickafoose from Magnolia established this fund. Income from the trust is used to make INTEREST-FREE(!!) educational loans to deserving students residing in southeastern Stark County, Northwestern Carroll County, and northern Tuscarawas County. A selection committee of three members makes award recommendations to Stark Community Foundation’s Distribution Committee. Due April 1st.
Stark Community Foundation’s scholarship season is now open, visit http://www.starkcf.org/scholarships to view more than 80 scholarship opportunities in The Stark County and surrounding areas. The deadline for the majority of our scholarship opportunities is April 1, 2017.
COAD (Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development) Scholarship: Open to students who live in Tuscarawas or Carroll County, and demonstrate financial need. Applications available in the Guidance Office. Due April 1st.
Motorcyclist Memorial Foundation: Participants must visit the Memorial Wall at the American Legion grounds in Hopedale. A picture of the participant visiting the Wall must be attached to the scholarship entry. Up to $1,000. Motorcyclist Memorial Foundation Details. David Scholar Scholarship Program: Applicants must demonstrate above average academics, significant financial need, participation in extracurricular activities, overcoming obstacles in life, and good character. $28,000 value! Due April 15th (this application takes some time to put together–start early!).
Canton South Rotary Academic Scholarship: $1,000. Due back to SV Guidance by April 17th.
Junior Achievement of East Central Ohio Scholarship: Junior Achievement of East Central Ohio believes in life long learning and encourages students to expand their education past high school. Our local office offers one-time awards to high school seniors who have participated in JA programs in Stark County, Tuscarawas, or Carroll counties.
The minimum award amount is $1,000. The JA Scholarship Committee will make final award decisions. Min GPA: 3.0. Due May 1st
Robert A. Klingler Co., L.P.A. Ohio Problem-Solving Scholarship: At Robert A. Klingler Co., L.P.A., we want to know the one thing you would change in order to make this world a better place for everyone. Why did you pick this particular change? How would you implement it? If you are a high school or college student in Ohio and are enrolled in a two to five-year institution in 2017, apply today for the $1,000 Robert A. Klingler Co., L.P.A. Ohio Problem-Solving Scholarship. Due May 31st.
Al Maloney Memorial Scholarship: Applicants must live in Tuscarawas County. Focus on how student has impacted community through extracurricular. Minimum 3.0 GPA. Due June 1st.
Groth & Associates Scholarship: The Lawyers here at Groth & Associates are proud to offer a generous $1,000.00 scholarship for any individuals who qualify. To qualify for this scholarship: Must have a G.P.A. of 3.0+, fill out the form with your contact information, attach school transcript to verify enrollment, attach a 500-word essay about difficulties or hardships you have had to personally overcome. $1,000 scholarship. Horatio Alger Scholarship: National Career & Technical Scholarship, State & National Scholarships. The Horatio Alger Scholarship Programs specifically assist high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. While many programs are directed primarily to recognizing academic achievement or leadership potential, the Horatio Alger Association seeks students who have exhibited determination, integrity, and perseverance in overcoming adversity, as well as critical financial need.
